NBCC Annual Dinner, Amsterdam
Thu 23 Nov 2017

Thursday, 23 November 2017

Pre-dinner drinks from 18.00 followed by dinner at 19.00 at

the Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club

Gebouw Industria, Dam 27, Amsterdam

We have great pleasure in inviting NBCC members and their guests to our annual dinner, organised in conjunction with the Professional Accounts in Europe (PAiE) and the Department of International Trade of the British Embassy in The Hague. This event reflects the continuing good working relationships between NBCC and like-minded groups in the Netherlands, which we hope are of mutual benefit to the respective organisations and their members.

We are delighted that our guest of honour during the evening will be HM Ambassador, The Honourable Peter Wilson CMG, the British Ambassador to the Netherlands, who succeeded Sir Geoffrey Adams in this post in August of this year following a number of years as the Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative at the UK Mission to the United Nations in New York.

We are equally pleased to welcome as our main speaker for the evening Han de Jong, Chief Economist of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. The economies of the Netherlands, the European Union and the world are nothing if not in a state of constant flux under the influence of such phenomena as climate change, North Korea, Brexit and Trump, listed purely randomly ! Both Peter and Han will have views on one or more of these issues to share with us. A stimulating evening is guaranteed !

As in recent years, our venue is the excellent Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club, the leading business club in the Netherlands. I would encourage you to visit their website at

As far as travel to the venue is concerned, the club is located on the Dam square in the heart of Amsterdam, directly opposite the main entrance to the Bijenkorf, a 10-15 minute walk or 5 minute tram ride from Amsterdam Centraal station. The nearest paid public car parking is the Bijenkorf (5 minute walk), the Kolk or Amsterdam Centraal (both 10-15 minute walk).

Space is strictly limited, so register early to avoid disappointment.

You can register online for the event here. The cost per participant is EUR 95,- plus BTW. Non-members of the NBCC pay EUR 115,- plus BTW.

Finally, we should point out that the dress code for this event is “business attire” but that specifically the club expects male visitors to wear a jacket and tie and all visitors not to wear denim.

I look forward to seeing and being able to talk to many of you there.
