“Love Cycling, Go Dutch”
NBCC concludes successful Dutch participation in the Cycle Show 2013.
In the past years Dutch cycling experts teamed up with their British counterparts to see how the Dutch cycling experience can boost Britain's cycle network and increase safety and public support for cycling. The campaign, which is appropriately branded “Love Cycling, Go Dutch” is shaped in a series of one day conferences during which cycling experts, urban planners and politicians enthusiastically exchange views in both practical workshops and more wide-ranging seminars.
As an extra feature in this campaign, the NBCC has, with support from the Netherlands Embassy inLondon, successfully organised and hosted the Netherlands pavilion at the 2013 Cycle Show in Birmingham where Dutch cycling related products and services were featured to the more than 25,000 visitors. The exhibition was held in Birmingham from 26 to 29 September 2013. The show previewed an amazing line-up of new product from over 250 exhibitors with the latest bikes and accessories as well as cycling related services.
On the first day of the exhibition, the so-called “Trade Day”, the Netherlands Embassy in London organised one of its local “Love Cycling, Go Dutch” conferences, which had an impressive line-up of speakers from the industry and attracted over 90 attendees.
Upon return to the Netherlands after the show, exhibition participant Paul Jongmans of Praxtour commented: “I would like to thank NBCC for the smooth organisation of this event and the pleasant atmosphere at the Dutch pavilion. Because of the newly established contacts our UK distributor can make a kick-start in the British market and leads will be followed up immediately”.
Other participants in the Dutch pavilion also expressed their enthusiasm about the show and NBCC management is looking forward to the 2014 Cycle Show which will hopefully showcase an even bigger Dutch cycling industry presence.
