NBCC was pleased to host the Netherlands pavilion at Ecobuild (4-6 March 2014) where 9 Dutch companies (to see the participating Dutch company’s profiles click here) showcased their products and services to the UK and international construction industry specialists.
Ecobuild is the world’s biggest annual event on sustainable construction. It has been a busy and vibrant 3 days and the first set of visitor figures are looking very promising seeing a 3% rise in attendance delivering 44,538 industry professionals to the event last week.
During the show, the NBCC also organised a seminar focussing on the state of play in UK sustainable construction and a well attended network reception in conjunction with the Belgian/Luxembourg pavilion at Ecobuild, making it a true Benelux network event. The Dutch presence at Ecobuild was supported by the Netherlands government and given the fact that the number of potentially interested Dutch exhibitors exceeded the capacity of the Netherlands pavilion, NBCC is now making preparations for an even bigger Dutch presence at next year’s edition of Ecobuild.
NBCC believe the UK has much to offer to Dutch suppliers in the construction industry with output figures in UK construction showing more signs of recovery than anywhere else in Western Europe. UK construction, according to Darren Jarvis, MD of ConstructUK and one of the speakers at the seminar, is now showing growth levels again similar to the years before the financial crisis kicked in which is creating massive opportunities for both UK and overseas suppliers in the coming years.
