NBCC’s Chairman Anton Valk has been honored as an Officer in the order of Orange-Nassau by his Majesty the King of the Netherlands for his contribution to Dutch Business and his personal commitment and dedication to furthering Anglo-Dutch trade and culture. Anton stepped down in 2012 as CEO of Abellio, a successful transport company and subsidiary of Netherlands Railways, which he founded in 2001. During his period as CEO, he has been involved in charitable work for a deprived school in North London, was active in the British-Dutch strategic dialogue and the steering group of the annual Apeldoorn conference as well as stimulating best practice exchange in culture, science and history. The award has been presented by the Dutch Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Laetitia van den Assum, on Tuesday 29 April 2014 at her residence in London.
Earlier this year Anton was awarded a CBE.
