The United Kingdom will introduce the new Border Target Operating Model (BTOM) in 2024. This means additional customs rules and checks when exporting goods to the UK. The system will be introduced in multiple stages. The first phase will launch on 31 January 2024.

To help our members with the preparation, we would like to invite you to our virtual BTOM Webinar on Thursday 11 January from 10:00-11:00 CET. This webinar is especially relevant for companies that import animal products, fish products, plants, plant products, and/or animal food into the UK.

During this session, we will delve into the upcoming phases of the Border Target Operating Model (BTOM) for 2024. By January 31, 2024, health certification will apply to medium-risk animal products, plants, and high-risk food from the EU. By April 30, 2024, identity checks and physical inspections will be added. Lastly, by October 31, 2024, safety and security declarations for EU imports will be enforced, with a reduced dataset introduced to streamline customs declarations.

Please find the programme below. There will be plenty of room for questions and discussion.

It is possible that you already have specific questions regarding the above-mentioned topics. You can mention these in the remarks box during registration. We will then ensure that they are addressed during the meeting.
