Almost a year after the first EU–UK summit, the NBCC is delighted to invite you to an exclusive drinks reception at the House of Lords. The evening will provide an opportunity to reflect on progress since the 2025 summit and to exchange views ahead of this year’s edition. The reception will take place in the Home Room at the House of Lords on 14 April 2026 from 18:30 to 20:30 (UK time).

As the EU and the UK look to deepen their relationship, this gathering offers an occasion to take stock of cooperation and to discuss shared priorities for the 2026 summit, including the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) agreement and the youth mobility scheme. Looking beyond the upcoming summit, it will also provide an opportunity to consider the next phase of engagement, notably advancing a more strategic partnership through deeper trade cooperation, strengthened security and defence ties, and continued dialogue on mobility and regulatory alignment

We are pleased to confirm the participation of the following speakers:

  • Madelaine Tuininga, Head of Trade and Economic Section at the Delegation of the European Union to the United Kingdom
  • Rem Korteweg, Senior Research Fellow at Clingendael
  • Trevor Charsley, Chief Technical Strategist at Corpay
  • David Henig, Director of the UK Trade Policy Project at ECIPE
