NBCC were pleased to interview Manoj Thomas of Intralox, the global conveyance solutions leader, offering direct service for a broad range of industries in more than 100 countries.

Can you tell us about Intralox LLC Europe? What is your role in the company?
Intralox is the world’s leading conveyance solutions provider, featuring an extensive portfolio of technologies and services which enhance food safety, powers e-commerce, and solves challenges for industries ranging from food processing to industrial manufacturing to logistics and material handling. Intralox employs over 3,000 team members worldwide and is trusted by 60,000 customers in over 100 countries.

To serve each region accurately and on time, Intralox has headquarters, locations, and global assembly centers strategically positioned worldwide. From our EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam, we service and support our customers across this region using our locations in Amsterdam, Wehl in the Netherlands, and Birmingham in the UK. 

I have been with the company for around 17 years and am currently the Financial Director for our EMEA and APAC operations. 

What is the specialization of Intralox?  
Our specialization is conveyance solutions geared toward helping our customers improve efficiencies, minimize waste, and maintain plant uptime. Our business model relies on direct collaborative partnerships rather than distributors. Serving and supplying directly provides our customers with distinct advantages; extraordinary customer service, industry-specific expertise, and faster innovation and implementation cycles.

Who are your customers? 
Our customers include end-user companies as well as original equipment manufacturers. We break out our business into three main verticals: Food, Industrial, and Logistics & Material handling. Each of these business units has dedicated Industry teams. For example, under Food, we have dedicated teams covering the Bakery, Fruit & Vegetable industries, etc. 

How big is the NL - UK market for you?  
The UK-NL market is an important one for us. In addition, being present here allows us to leverage our facilities, talent, and favourable logistics network to support our customers in the EMEA region. 

Why did you become an NBCC member?  
We learnt about NBCC while preparing for Brexit. It seemed like a good forum to join as there was at that time a lot of uncertainty on the terms of Brexit and the implications for companies like Intralox with a UK-NL presence. Since then, we have benefited from the information sessions and webinars on various topics.  

What are your plans for the future?  
We are in the midst of a major global expansion of our capacity and footprint. Having invested over $300 million over the past five years, including here in the Netherlands. We have also expanded our local workforce to allow us to meet the increased demand from our customers.
